  • Clubhouse Reopening 17th May

From the 17th May hospitality venues are able to open to serve food indoors with some important guidelines in place.

The clubhouse has been closed for a number of months and as a club we have taken the opportunity to invest in some major structural and cosmetic improvements so tomorrow will not only be an opportunity to enjoy your food indoors, it will also provide a chance for you to see the great work which has been done to improve our facilities.

Tomorrow however we are still having to operate under guidelines which briefly are as follows:

Clubhouses and indoor hospitality areas may reopen. Groups are limited to six indoors, as you enter, please check in to the venue using the NHS QR code which will be located on tables and at the entrance.

If you are unable to scan the code please use the visitor book which will be located at the entrance.

As you enter the clubhouse you must wear a face covering, and use the sanitiser provided. Please take your seat and a table service system will take and deliver your orders.

A one way system will be in operation however if you are moving around the clubhouse please use your face covering. Full details of the regulations can be found within the England Golf Framework. Below this message you will also find the infographic poster outlining the Play Safe protocols.

Please continue to use BRS to book your tee times.

There are a few finishing touches to be made to the clubhouse and we are hoping to be open as early as possible but please bear with the team who are applying finishing touches and deliveries etc. I am sure you will be impressed with the changes and the quality of finish which is outstanding. We will have an opportunity to thank the members who have volunteered their time so generously over the last few months, in the future grand opening event!

The ladies changing rooms are currently being decorated and will be finished by mid week we also have the final bits of carpet tiling to finish in the entrance hall. We also now have a disabled toilet and this will also be completed in the next couple of days.

I am sure you will have all seen the fantastic coverage and review we have received in the Golf World /Today’s Golfer course rankings for Great Britain and Ireland where we were ranked No 3 in the Top 100 under £60, which is a remarkable achievement. I think we now have a clubhouse which provides an environment that matches our wonderful course.

Please see the previous news post for a copy of the Today's Golfer rankings within which are some first class courses and a great article and photographs of KGC!! Congratulations to all for making this happen!

We have the Mizuno Pairs event on the 27th May, it is sold out with 208 players with tee times from 8.00 through to 3.30pm, another great showcase for the club, good luck to the Kington members who are taking part.

We will keep you updated with further announcements as we get closer to the 21st June. For now, enjoy your golf, enjoy the clubhouse and please bring your carpet slippers!!

Thank you for your continued support
