Special Ball Stableford Results: 16th Oct 2017

Today's Bag Day Special Ball Stableford went ahead despite ex-hurricane Ophelia's attempts to blow us off the course!

Six teams of three ventured out into the early low cloud with the results as follows:

1st/ Peter Kelly, John Lockwood and Joe James with 119pts

2nd/ Andy Edey, Dave Freake and Dave Smith with 118pts

3rd/ Gordon Glover, Dan Parry and Ted Davies with 117pts

Last Thursday we lost away to The Herefordshire by 7 matches to 0. Hopefully we can do better in our final match of the year away to Wharton Park tomorrow 17/10/17.

Thanks, Ted

Seniors Away Day: 5th October 2017

The away day to Bromsgrove Golf Club was a resounding success. Twenty-two travelled to a venue which to the majority was a new course. We were treated to kind weather on a parkland track with the inevitable problem with leaves at this time of year and perhaps a lack of sand in the bunkers. This said, the course played well with some good golfing holes and well worth another visit, hopefully next June's away day. The results were as follows for teams of three two scores to count:

1st/ David Freake / Dave Patterson / Nigel Venables 72pts

2nd/ Arthur Hyde / David Mains / Dan Parry 71pts

3rd/ Richard Elmes / Keith Lister / Barry Wilson 71 pts (back 9)

Nearest the pin -- 7th hole Colin Blick

Nearest the pin -- 11th hole Ted Davies

Longest drive -- 18th hole Sam Hinton

Thanks, Ted

September Update

Kington Seniors were hammered by Bransford 6 - 0

The weather didn't help either as we were hammered by the rain as well.

A Reminder that 5th October is our final away day of the summer. There are a few places up for grabs, three at the moment, for a good day out at a new course with coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes and a two-course meal all for £30. (£35 for non-Seniors)

Thanks,

Ted

Seniors Match update: 21st August 2017

Last Thursday's home match saw Kington come out as 4:2 winners against Cradoc GC. This was a close encounter and Kington's hero was Alan Beves who eagled the 18th to win his match and stave off a 3:3 draw. Well done that man!

This Wednesday 23/8/17 sees our Kington Seniors Open, so good luck to you all and not too much luck to our visitors.

Thanks to Chris Scott for all his hard work. Let's hope the weather plays ball for us.

Thanks, Ted

Seniors Match Update: 12th August 2017

This week's match was away to The Worcestershire, with the weather in Malvern playing fair the home team obviously didn't - giving our boys a 6 to 0 thrashing.
Although the away match to the Rolls of Monmouth resulted in a 4.5 to 1.5 loss it was a good effort on a difficult course.
The next match is a home fixture against Cradoc.
Thanks, Ted
