Kington Golf Club has adopted a charity mascot bear and named him Brad, after their location on Bradnor Hill, in order to raise money for the Club's 2019 charity - the HELP Appeal. HELP is the only national charity raising money for hospital helipads.
Golfers make a donation to the Appeal in order to take Brad with them on new adventures.
To date, Brad has visited Australia, Japan, St Lucia, Singapore and many places in Europe. He has been to Ascot, Twickenham and Wimbledon (where he was invited on to Court No 1 by former British #1s Andrew Castle and Jeremy Bates)!
Local projects for the HELP Appeal include a helipad upgrade at Hereford County Hospital and a new raised helipad at Worcester Royal Hospital.
Lesley Knight of the HELP Appeal said 'We love this idea from Kington Golf Club. Not only is it a fun way to raise awareness of the charity but it is also raising much-needed funds so we can continue building more hospital helipads closer to emergency departments.'
