From the Treasurer
Please note that subscriptions for next year are posted on the main board and that the full member fee is £520. This fee complies with the criteria proposed by The Treasury in considering CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) applications. We submitted our application in July 2011 and it now looks likely that we will finally get approval and be able to benefit from continued business rates relief worth £12k pa to us.
Message from Kay Taylor
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to making this year such a successful one for the Club. We have raised over £5,000 for the Air Ambulance as well as a considerable amount for our own Club Fundraising. The latter is being well used in the upgrading of the Clubhouse which is currently in progress.
We have been very fortunate in the year to have Sarah and Chris on board - they have settled in well and are doing great things for the Club. I wish them well in the future. Istfan and Agee have continued to serve us well and Paul, Mike and Gary have worked hard behind the bar. Ian and Alun have kept the Course looking it's best through the adverse weather earlier in the year and there being one fewer staff on their team.
I would like to thank all the Ladies Committee for all the support they have given me this year and all the Ladies section for their support and friendship through the year. I wish Bee and Mary well as they take on the Captain and Vice Captain's role next year.
Ladies' Christmas Lunch
The Ladies Christmas Lunch at Kington Golf Club was held on the 17 December on a glorious day of sunshine. We had a "fun" 9 hole competition in teams of three where each player was only allowed one club and a putter and had to play in strict rotation. A great meal followed prepared by Aggie and Istfan in the kitchen and then prizes for the Autumn were presented.
The winners of the Competition were Claire Burton, Iris Corfield and Sue Davies. Second place went to Joan Morgan, Mandy Jones, and Teresa Godbert.

The Inter Club Quiz Night.
Kington were the hosts to Burghill Valley Golf Club and The Herefordshire Golf Club. Approximately 15 teams of four took part. The three best scores from each club counting.
The Quiz was set independently. Allan Williams read the questions (but didn`t always give the answers we put!). I would say it was a great success and I believe well over £400 was taken over the bar plus £200 from the entrance money and raffle . Chips and sandwiches were served at half time.
The result was- The Herefordshire 265 points, Burghill 240 and Kington 225
It is a round robin tournament with Away Matches at Burghill on January 25 and The Herefordshire on the 15 February.
So come on all you experts - we need your support in the two away matches.
Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off!
