Bradnor Bugle - August, 2014

Captain's News

On 24 August our party set out in very good time for aMatch against Denbeighshire Golf Club captains at Abergele.

The weather was fine and course in splendid condition.  Regrettably the Match result did not live up to our expectations and Denbeighshire won the honours, but an excellent day was had by all.

A word from Niki Scott

Just to confirm that the total profit made from the Community Shop last week was an amazing £2,000.  This is a fantastic total and a very big thank you to all who helped.  In particular Irene Priday who stepped in when we were short of helpers and also to Sophia Veillet who was a little star.

The Texas Scramble held last Sunday raised a profit of £324.  Many thanks to Marcel & Phil who organised this day.  The atmosphere in the Clubhouse was great and all were very complementary about the friendliness of our Club, the food, the course and the great organisation of the competition.  Well Done Boys

News from the Ladies

Congratulations go to Nigel Venables for winning the nett section of the Herefordshire and Shropshire Seniors Championships. Gordon Glover was also in the frame coming first in his age group.

Herefordshire Mixed County results

George Smith and Pip Frost were second in the gross and Wayne and Christine Evans were third in the nett.

Well done Sarah.

In the WPGA one day series event played at South Hearts Golf Club Sarah shot a one under 73 to share top spot on the leader board.  An eagle at the 9th was a high light but a bogey at 18th meant she had to share that top spot.

Our girl did well !!!

Our Juniors

Congratulations to Horsehay Village, Kington, Llanymynech  and Telford on qualifying for the SHUGC Junior Handicap League Semi-Finals and Final which were held at Lilleshall Hall GC on Thursday 31st July.

Kington Juniors did the Club proud as they came away as runners up loosing to Llanymynach 3.5 to 2.5 after having beating Telford 3-3 on holes up.

Playing Off the White Markers

At the discretion of the Professional or her assistant, play will be allowed off the white tees in Friendlies.  If the course is busy or there is a Competition in progress this may not be possible.
