Seniors Match update 12th August 2017

This week's match was away to The Worcestershire, with the weather in Malvern playing fair the home team obviously didn't - giving our boys a 6 to 0 thrashing.
Although the away match to the Rolls of Monmouth resulted in a 4.5 to 1.5 loss it was a good effort on a difficult course.
The next match is a home fixture against Cradoc.
Thanks, Ted

Mon 7th Aug Seniors Texas Scramble Results

A good turn out of 30 and we managed to dodge any showers.

It was good to see a new face in Malcolm Edwards, welcome to the Seniors.

Some good scores mainly down to the excellent condition of the course:

1st Andey Edey, David Freake and Dave Sayers - 51pts

2nd Dave Baxendale, Alan Beves and Steve Hallam - 50pts (back 6)

3rd Geoff Brown, Ray Kellard and Dave Smith - 50pts

The away match to the Rolls of Monmouth resulted in a 4.5:1.5 loss.

We play The Worcestershire away this week followed by the August medal next Monday.

Thanks, Ted

Bag Day Results - 24th July 2017

Today's bag day competition saw a turn out of 23, not bad for a 3 Clubs and a Putter format.

Given the breezy conditions the scores were almost Jordan Spieth like.

  • 1st Phil Gould 34 pts

  • 2nd Peter Kelly 31 pts - on count back last 6

  • 3rd Mike Lloyd 31 pts

Hard luck to Richard "Dutch" Elmes who also score 31 pts

Thanks for all those who took part.

Thanks, Ted

Match update

Thursday's match against The Herefordshire ended in a hard earned half. The course played very well and the standard of golf more than matched it. Thank you to all the Seniors that played.

Our next match is against the County Juniors on Wednesday 26th at home 10.00am tee off. It is worth playing to see how golf should be played!

Thursday 13th July: Home match against Wharton Park

Kington Seniors manged to record a 5 -2 win in the home match against Wharton Park on Thursday 13th July.

Our visitors enjoyed the course and meal and were grateful to have avoided inclement weather.

The star for Kington was Paul Finch who apparently was holing putts from everywhere. The handicap secretary has been notified so watch out Paul!

Thanks, Ted
