After many years of successfully leading from the front Bert Priday has handed over the Chairmanship of the club to David Francis. Well done Bert and welcome David.
Dave Baxendale has also stood down as Treasurer. His time in the post has seen some epic changes which he coped with so well. He passes the ‘books’ over to Bob Bowen a tried and trusted chap.

Titleist Fitting Day
The Titleist fitting day was on Monday 30th of June and I would like to thank the members who attended and Titleist fitter Ben Welch for offering his time and expertise. It was very informative day, and well supported, and I look forward to seeing Ben back at Kington in the future.
Finally Ross Moore and me are off to Little Aston on Friday 4th July in the PGA/Lombard Pro Am and we are both looking forward to representing Kington at a fantastic course. Thanks to all who have wished us luck.

Community Fund Raising Shop
Niki Scott is supervising our use of the ‘Community Shop’ in Kington High Street. The dates are 18th July to 25th July. She would like to hear from anyone who could volunteer to lend a hand during the week. This is a fund raising venture, so if you have unwanted treasures that you could donate to help fill the shop they would be much appreciated. Items need to be brought to the shop after 2pm on Friday the 18th or any time when the shop will be manned. Electrical goods have to be PAT tested therefore need to be at the shop by Saturday morning.
Please contact Nikki on 01544 231209 or 07766733005 or Mary Hill on 01544 350800 to volunteer, to donate goods or for more information.
Nice to be appreciated .....
Good evening to everyone concerned with your wonderful golf course. We were recommended to come to Kington by two of our friends so nine of us booked in at the Burton hotel and added two rounds of golf at Kington. I can honestly say from start to finish it has been a fantastic two day break. The course is stunning and maintained by friendly green keepers and quite a few sheep (we are going to advise our home club to get some). The greens are true and wickedly fast a badly judged put gets what it deserves. The views from the 7th match any views anywhere in the country. Your pro is informative friendly and polite and your steward, Paul. is a asset to your Club and shook everyone's hands and invited us back something we will be doing as soon as possible.
Many thanks to you all can't wait to come back.
Mr Barker and his party.

Congratulations to Ryan Hotchkiss for winning the Gross prize at the SHUG Boys Par 3 Championship held at Sapey Golf Club. Ryan shot 55 (1 over) to win by 6 shots. Tom John was unlucky to miss out on a Nett prize as he finished 4th with a 12 under score of 42.

And finally ....
The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson. "Is the word spelt p-u-t or p-u-t-t?" she asked the instructor. "P-u-t-t is correct," he replied. "Put means to place a thing where you want it. Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing."
Two golfers were sitting at the 19th hole discussing their games this year when one says to the other, My game is so bad this year I had to have my ball retriever regripped!”
Whats the difference between a bad golfer and a bad skydiver? A bad golfer goes: WHACK ..."Damn!” A bad Skydiver goes: "Damn!” ... WHACK!!
