Kington Golf Club are delighted to announce that Sarah Walton , the PGA Assistant Professional of the Year for 2012, has agreed to take on the role as Head Professional at England's Highest Golf Course, starting on May 11th.
Following a distinguished amateur career during which she won the British Ladies Open Mid-Amateur Championship and was a member of the strong Lancashire Ladies' County Golf Team that won two Regional and two National team titles, Sarah realised a long standing ambition and passion for helping others to improve their golf by turning professional and taking the PGA Foundation Degree Course at Birmingham University This course covered all aspects of professional golf and included attachments at several golf clubs. Such was her drive and motivation Sarah collected a string of awards including 2nd place in the PGA Rookie Trainee of the Year for 2010, PGA Trainee Assistant of the Year in 2011, and the coveted PGA Assistant of the Year Award for 2012.
During that time she acted as Assistant Coach to former European Tour winner Paul Eales, the Lancashire Ladies and was invited to coach at the Ladies British Open Championship at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake in 2012. For the past year she has been the Teaching Professional at Lytham Green Drive Golf Club and has rapidly developed an enviable reputation as a first class coach.
Drawing on her self-employed business experience during her amateur days and with her passion for helping other golfers from young novices to experienced golfers to improve their game Sarah is keen to get Kington's new state of the art indoor teaching facility off to a flying start. This installation of the OptiShot custom package will enable Sarah to analyse every detail of the golf swing and to implement subtle changes to maximise improvement. Both beginners and members will also be able to pit their skills against some of the World's finest courses in the Simulator Cage whatever the weather is doing outside.
In addition to providing a first class service in both the Professional's shop and through lessons Sarah will create and nurture links with local schools, businesses and social clubs to introduce them to a game which she is passionate about. Members and local golfers keen to improve their golf would be well advised to contact Sarah sooner rather than later - she will be in great demand.
